Night On the Town!
I'll be the first to admit I'm not much of a party girl... don't get me wrong, I can line up as many shots as the next person (depending on the drink) but I'd rather sit at a house party with my friends while talking and drinking, rather than hanging around clubs and dancing the whole time, not that I don't like dancing, I do it in my room to Hilary Duff all the time... when no one's looking :P
The below is what I see as reasons why house parties are better than the clubs
1. The line for alcohol is much shorter, if existent at all, because I usually have my bottle of Sambuca or Midori with me.
2. You can actually hear what your friends are saying to you, and I don't get to see mine that often so I appreciate that.
3. At home I can listen to some good music, preferably some kind of rock, perhaps Goo Goo Dolls, Nickelback or Breaking Benjamin, depending on the day and mood of course, and then I don't have to listen to the rap crap they seem to play in most clubs these days (no offence to those who love that kinda music, you guys can party away)
4. At home, Singstar is always an option.
5. I can buy a bottle of Sambuca and some lemonade for under $40, which will last me for more than that one party, as opposed to paying for every cup I buy, most of which are overpriced, and having to pay to get into some places.
6. I don't have to deal with my bag and clothes smelling of smoke and who knows what else.
7. At home I can control heating and cooling, with the city you cold when your outside... but you're hot when you're inside... but you don't wanna hold a jacket... so you'll just freeze while waiting in line.
Reasons as to why clubs are better
1. Get to dress up.
2. Don't have the mess to clean up.
3. Drunken strangers are often funny.
So as you can see, there are a few reasons as to why I'll actually get off my ass and hit the town. Mainly, it's cause I get to hang out with my friends without parents complaining that there are too many people in their house, or walking into the room every two minutes just incase someones decided to rebel and smoke some weed or something, which is just insulting and annoying to those of us who don't. But anyway! Saturday night a group of us went out to the city, hit Mansions first, then the London, and then we sorta bummed around the streets and went up Rundle Mall, which I must say was probably the hightlight of my night lol. There are funny people up there, some flirt, some yell random funny things, such as 'right off the shitter!' or something along those lines that was shared by some Irish people after high fiving some of my friends (which made me quite happy that I didn't get in on that action) before we found a busker with a guitar and decided to give him some change (I think he figured out that people are more generous when drunk, since he was playing in the cold at like midnight, and he sang 'Stand By Me' for us, and he was really good! One of my friends didn't know the words except for one line of the chorus (stand by me, of course). I was ashamed of her. :P
So all in all I'll go out on occasion to see my friends and put on my pretty clothes! But it's much safer to pass out or throw up in the safety of my own home :P. Perhaps one day some clubs will play my kinda music, and then i'll be the one having to drag others there! What a happy day that shall be lol xox
